My Fresh START Experience

I was so excited to get a THON-related activity for my Fresh START project because I really want to get involved with THON this year, and this gave me a chance to learn more about it. Even though the mats were really dirty and cleaning them was difficult, I knew that it was a really important job because kids with cancer can get really sick if they are exposed dirt and germs. It was great to meet some of the THON overall committee and get a THON presentation as well.

I got to help clean THON mats.  It was pretty fun, we could have had more work to do though.  I got to learn a lot abot THON and I really want to be involved.  At the end, we had a giant slip and slide across the mats.  That was really cool.

Today was great because, at the end of the day, I know that I made a difference. It's great to know by doing this project, I changed someone's life for the better; there's no better feeling in the world, and I can't wait to get more involved in my new PSU home community! :):)

What I Thought About Fresh START...

Fresh START was a great way to get involved at Penn State and meet a lot of other freshman. We had a great time cleaning the THON mats and making sure they were clean enough for the children to use. The entire experience taught me that volunteering can be a fun way to get involved and promote a good cause.
